Essex Film Office
In 2022, Essex County Council formalised a dedicated Film Office to position the county as a go-to location for film and TV production.
The Essex Film Office is currently run by a team of dedicated staff. Sitting within Essex County Council, The Essex Film Office is the primary point of contact for advice, management, permissions, and the booking of film locations throughout the county.
All filming on or around Essex County Council land, facilities and public highways requires permission.
Essex film office is the central point of contact for all filming and photography in the county and we can assist with relevant enquiries and permissions.
All productions working in the county are requested to follow our Code of Practice, we advise that you make the Film Office aware of all your filming activities to ensure you have the full co-operation of the council and other public agencies.
The Essex Film Office is in the process of establishing an online permitting system, in the meantime you can apply to film by contacting the film office.
If you are filming in Essex and are not sure whether you require a permission from the Essex Film Office, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
