The Backstage Centre
A world-class, purpose-built, production, rehearsal & training facility
The Backstage Centre is situated on the Thames Estuary Production Corridor’s High House Production Park in Purfleet-on-Thames, Essex. It is just 11 miles east of London City Airport, and offers an outstanding space to meet your production, rehearsal, and training requirements. The Backstage Centre’s 875m2 heated sound stage was designed in consultation with industry experts and is a great filming location, tour rehearsal, training, and pre-production space.
The Backstage Centre, work with leading international and UK-based clients from various industries, including Film, Television and Broadcast, Games Industry, Motion Capture, Musical Theatre, Fashion, Dance, and Opera to Music Tours and Pre-Festival rehearsals.
3 Mills Studios
Located just 30 minutes from the Essex border, 3 Mills Studios is an iconic production destination in the heart of London’s most vibrant creative community.
Nestled on an attractive island oasis in the heart of East London with superb transport links, 3 Mills Studios is one of the most accessible studios in the UK.
The versatile studio space has played host to many high-end Film and TV productions, recently including MasterChef, The Third Day, The Great, Slow Horses and The Expendables 4, as well as some incredible independent filmmakers such as Wes Anderson, Andrea Arnold, Danny Boyle, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg, Stephen Daldry, Mike Leigh, Michael Winterbottom and Marc Munden.
With 9 filming stages, 10 rehearsal spaces, production offices, costume rooms, prop-stores, and workshops, 3 Mills Studios has the facilities to accommodate a wide range of productions with anything a production may need from production to shoot, rehearsal space and facilities.

CAMA AssetStore is supporting the film and television industry to efficiently and sustainability manage its props, sets, and costumes with their storage solutions and asset management platform, AssetFlow.
Their facilities are treasure troves, filled with valuable sets, props, and costumes that can be used again and again, cared for by a team that understands the importance of preserving creativity and intellectual property.
Powered by AssetFlow, their unique digital tool also gives users visibility and control. This works with CAMA's industry-first AssetCycle sustainability service, facilitating a more circular economy and providing carbon data on the impact of reuse when storage is no longer needed.
Mayflower Studios
Previously known as 'The Underwater Studio', our space has hosted hundreds of productions across film, TV, music promos and commercials. From 'Trainspotting' to 'Harry Potter', 'Eastenders' to 'Top Gear' and 'Kylie' to 'Ed Sheeran', we have served the industry as the home of underwater filming for over 20 years.
New owners with decades of industry experience have taken up the mantle and rejuvenated the site, ready to host your shoot.
Located just 8 miles from the M25, the 6m deep, 12m x 9m underwater studio is available for hire for underwater film and photo shoots on a ‘dry hire’ basis. Producers are welcome to bring along their own HSE diver supervisor and crew, if you prefer.
Recent improvements to the site include a larger car park area with more space for crew and tech vehicles. In addition to the HMU and two multi-purpose spaces in the underwater stage building, the studio now has two additional production offices and a workshop as well as the dining room available to hire.
Space for a Base. The studio complex is also available for use as a unit base with space for 40+ vehicles.
