Recalling childhood memories and the in trepidation of finding out about his family history, Olly Murs is seen walking his dog Missy along the beautiful beach at Cudmore Grove, Mersea Island
Just 10 miles from Colchester, at the eastern end of Mersea Island, you’ll find Cudmore Grove. Spend summer days enjoying its sandy beach, impressive views, grassland and meadows. Winter brings wading birds and wildfowl, including flocks of brent geese. The area is rich in historic features and there are many walking routes that will take you past interesting sites, including WWII pillboxes and gun emplacements, the remains of a 16th century blockhouse fort and a cliff that has produced 300,000-year-old fossils, such as monkey, bear and bison.
