The Jury: Murder Trial” is a Channel 4 series that recreates a real murder trial using original transcripts to examine the jury system. The series was filmed at Shire Hall in Chelmsford, which served as a former courthouse. Two randomly selected juries, unaware of each other, watched the trial from separate compartments within the courtroom. The case involved a man who admitted to killing his wife but claimed he lost control, denying murder. The show aimed to explore whether two different juries, presented with the same evidence, would reach the same verdict.
