The Boat That Rocked

Where was it filmed?

The Boat That Rocked is a joyful, irreverent comedy about a band of rogue DJs broadcasting rock and pop music from a pirate radio ship in the 1960s, defying government crackdowns while celebrating friendship, rebellion and the power of music. Filmed using the light vessel LV18, which is currently located in Harwich. The LV18 was used to represent the fictional pirate radio station “Radio Rock” in the film, and was partially re-painted yellow for the movie. The ship has since been restored and is open to the public in Harwich.
