Thorndon Country Park
In 2017 Thorndon Country Park in Brentwood, was used as a filming location for “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”, the sixth film in the hugely successful Mission Impossible franchise.
The arrival of the production crew in the usually peaceful Country Park in Essex caused a stir as scenes filmed at the park featured Tom Cruise, climbing out of a helicopter in a leafy lane near the main park. Thorndon Country Park was selected by location scouts who were impressed by the broad expanse of space and its wooded setting.
Colourful woodlands and open parkland make Thorndon Country Park in Brentwood the perfect destination for nature lovers, dog walkers and families alike – the north of the park with its wildlife-rich woodlands and the south with its open parkland. In spring, the woods fill with the scent and colour of bluebells and anemones – a sensory delight not to be missed! Thorndon Country Park is also home to the famous and much-loved The Gruffalo trail. Pick up a trail in the Countryside Centre for a small price before you start and enjoy a refreshing drink from the café when you’ve found all the characters.
