Happy-Go-Lucky is a 2008 British comedy-drama film written and directed by Mike Leigh. Starring Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsan. The film follows a cheerful and optimistic London primary school teacher and her relationships with those around her. It was well received by critics and resulted in a number of awards for Mike Leigh’s direction and screenplay, as well as the performances of Hawkins and Marsan. Among her accolades, Hawkins won Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 66th Golden Globe Awards and the Silver Bear for Best Actress for her work in the film.
