Where was it filmed?

Released in 1964, Goldfinger is often classed by fans as one of the best Bond films produced. It was the last film to involve the characters creator, Ian Fleming and epitomises the glamour associated with the adventures of the international spy. Bond, (Sean Connery ) in hot pursuit of super villain GoldFinger zooms in to the airport in his Aston Martin to stop GoldFinger – and his golden Rolls Royce which is being loaded on to a plane from fleeing to Switzerland. The airport featured was actually London Southend Airport with filming taking place at the original terminal building.

London Southend Airport operates daily flights to a number of destinations via EasyJet, Ryanair, Emirates and British Airways transporting passengers to over 200 worldwide destinations. Southend Airport is served by its own train station, just metres from the entrance. Southend Airport is easily accessible by car via the M25, there are up to 6 direct trains per hour, travelling into the centre of Southend or towards Chelmsford and London, or if you’re travelling by bus, catch the X30 from Chelmsford Bus Station.
