Following the mysterious story of Donald Crowhurst on his solo attempt to sail around the globe, The Mercy was shot on and around the river Black Water in Essex in 2015. Shot in Maldon and the surrounding area, local boatbuilder Heritage Marine in Downs Road in Maldon actually recreated Crowhurst’s boat for the movie.
Promenade park is one of Maldon’s most famous attractions and host to a number of film and TV shows. The Park is open all year round. Find out more from Visit Essex
