Could your property be turned into a film set?

On Location !

Do you have a property, office, building, outside space, or venue that you think would make a good location for filming?

Perhaps you have a unique and unusual site? Could your location be a double for somewhere else, the White House perhaps? or a typical American residence? Do you have wide open areas of hard standing, or car parking that would make a great production base?

At the Essex Film Office, we receive a a broad range of enquiries from productions looking for the perfect place to film.
There is a constant demand for buildings and venues of all types and styles, from well-appointed properties to derelict buildings and offices, private drives and stretches of road to castles and country manor houses, boatyards to housing estates, hotels to hospitals and even a quarry – the list is endless.
There are a few things which can help to make your property more film friendly:
Space. Production units often come with a large unit base. Sometimes with large vehicles and almost always with catering trucks, all of which need access to hard standing or film ground with space for them to park.
Access to power and water can be a bonus. Whilst productions are used to supplying their own services, making it clear when there is power available can help, particularly smaller productions.
Control of the site is a must. Productions come with their own security and marshalls, but for your location to be suitable for filming you will need to ensure your site can be made private which can sometimes mean closing areas off to the public or not holding events during filming.
Flexibility. Film and Tv productions work on tight schedules which can change at short notice. Whilst most will be able to provide a location with a good lead-in time, sometimes they need to change plans at short notice, so being flexible can really help to secure your booking.
A dedicated point of contact. Productions will often have questions about the location and will need answers rapidly. Having a dedicated person to contact will make the process much easier for you and the production.
If you think you have a property or place which would make a great location for filming, register today with the Essex Film Office Locations Database. Registration and listing is free and the Essex Film Office is here to support you.
